The Labor United Celebration features great musical entertainment for the whole family! On Sunday, local band Life of Brian will perform some All-American Rock at 12:00 noon and 1:30pm. Taking the stage at 4:00pm and 5:30pm, acoustic duo and band The Good Guys band will perform classic Rock ‘n Roll hits. Monday’s entertainment features On The Ridge, a kickin’ country band performing at 12:00 noon and 12:45pm. A Labor Day tradition, Chuck Blasko and the Vogues will showcase classic oldies performances on Monday at 4:00pm and 5:30pm. The Vogues are an internationally acclaimed group and have traveled the world making great music.
The Alain Zerbini Circus, heads the list of variety entertainment at the Labor United Celebration. Circus shows will be held both Sunday and Monday at 12:00 noon, 3:30pm, and 5:00pm. Some of the acts featured will include clowns, jugglers, aerialists, and performing animals. The circus shows are offered free of charge!
Also featured is That Guy With The Birds, who will be wowing crowds with his beautiful feathered friends at noon, 3:00pm and 5:00pm both days.
There will be plenty of fun rides for kids at the celebration. An “All Day Ride Pass” can be purchased for only three dollars, which offers unlimited use of all of the carnival rides, pony rides, petting zoo, and kiddie train rides.
Other attractions at the event include bingo, an Arts and Crafts Show featuring over 50 exhibitors, horse drawn trolley rides, demonstrations by the Westmoreland BMX Association, chainsaw carvings, and a giant flea market with over 120 vendors.
The Labor United Celebration is presented by the Labor United Celebration, Inc. and the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation. Northmoreland Park is located in Allegheny Township and is accessible via State Route 356 from State Routes 56, 66 and 28. Media representatives are encouraged to attend the event on August 31 and September 1. With good weather, attendance should be between 15,000-20,000 per day. “Set up” at the park is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 26.
