Thank you to everyone who voted for me in Tuesday’s election. While obviously disappointed with the overall results I am proud of the campaign we ran and so grateful for the support, hard work, prayers and friendship of so many people.
Thanks first and foremost to my family for carrying on without me while I was campaigning. There were a lot of missed dinners, bedtime stories and household chores. My wife, April, held it all together at home so well I can never thank her enough. And to my kids, thanks for understanding (or at least pretending to) when I explained why I have to “go to work again” at 7:00 at night or on a Sunday afternoon.
Thanks too to all of my extended family (sisters, in-laws, etc.) who seemingly came out of the woodwork to help.
Thank you to all the people who helped – from putting up signs, making calls, doing postcards, handing out literature and giving me a boost of energy when I needed it. I will never stop marveling at the number of good people who are willing to put their name on the line to help promote mine. I am so thankful. And I made more new friendships over the last year than I can count.
Thanks to my staff for holding the office together and making sure we maintained good constituent service and solid decision-making in the courthouse throughout the frenetic pace of the campaign.
Thanks finally to the voters of Westmoreland County for trusting me to continue as your County Commissioner. I have never, and will never, lose sight of the importance of my position and the need to work hard for everyone.
There will be another time for analysis and Monday-morning quarterbacking about the election results. But for now, I just want to say thanks from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privilege to serve you.
