Time to Vote

A wise person told me early in this election season to always end every campaign speech by asking the audience for their votes. As Election Day fast approaches I thank you all for your work, dedication and feedback, and now I ask for your vote.

Since we started this campaign I have resisted the urge for slick slogans and flashy catchphrases. The only promise I have made is that I will always work hard for the residents of Westmoreland County, be straight with them, and be open and accessible. I repeat that pledge now. Too much is stake and our work is too important to trivialize it into sound bites.

I am confident that in my time in office I have proven myself capable of making tough decisions and standing by my convictions. I have found ways to save money, improve programs and reform government. I welcome the opportunity to continue my work. And I hope that I have proven myself worthy of your support and trust.

I have met with literally thousands of people throughout Westmoreland County over the past few months, and I am so grateful for what I have learned. Mostly, I learned that we have a lot of good folks in this county who care deeply about their families, their communities and their government. The feedback I have gotten has made me a better commissioner and a better man.

I must also take this opportunity to thank the many people who have helped with this campaign in so many ways and will continue to do so until the last votes are counted.

In closing, I ask for your vote May 17th, and I look forward to continuing to work for you.
